Eric Lawer Torgbenu is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Health and Allied Science in Ghana. He was the Head of Department of the Kibi Government Hospital Physiotherapy Unit until his appointment as a lecturer. He is a registrant of the Allied Health Professions Council, Ghana and a member of the Ghana Physiotherapy Association.
Education
He had his education at the University of Ghana graduating with a BSc Degree in Physiotherapy and later obtained a Master of Science in Disability, Rehabilitation and Development at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
Work Experience
He is a trained Physiotherapist and has worked for over 6 years as a clinical Physiotherapist. During this period, he took part in various health and disease prevention outreaches to various communities in and around the Kibi Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He also headed the Physiotherapy Department of the Kibi Government Hospital for 5years and also served as the Consultant Physiotherapist for the AD-Cancer Awareness Organization where they embarked on free medical outreaches.
Science/Research Output
Mr. Torgbenu’s specialty and interest is Rehabilitation and Disability, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, inclusive education, health promotion and prevention, electrotherapy and soft tissue techniques. He is the author of “my health” book.
