Percival Delali Agordoh is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho. He is a Registered Dietician.
Prior to his appointment at UHAS, he was a practicing Clinical Dietitian with focus on critical care nutrition at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. He presently serves as the Interim National Vice President of the Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (GAND) after leading the erstwhile Ghana Dietetic Association (GDA) into a merger with the Ghana Nutrition Association as the National President
Education
Mr. Agordoh holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Dietetics from University of Ghana, Legon and Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Community Nutrition from the University for Development Studies in Tamale, Ghana. With a Fellowship from the Netherland Fellowship Programme in 2019, he became an alumnus of the prestigious African Nutrition Leadership Programme (ANLP) in North West University, Potchefstroom– South Africa.
Work Experience
Prior to joining UHAS, he practiced as a dietitian in Ghana for over five (5) years in both clinical and community settings. He was among the first new generation dietitians to practice in Northern Ghana in recent time. He served as a coordinator/preceptor for a year and half for the novel International Community Nutrition Rotation program in Asesewa, Eastern Region - the flagship program of the University of Ghana Nutrition Research & Training Centre in collaboration with McGill University (Canada) and Iowa State University (USA). He also has over fifteen (15) years of teaching and school management experience.
Science/Research Interest
Percival Delali Agordoh’s research interests are in the fields of cultural/indigenous nutrition, non-communicable diseases, nutrition quality of life for healthy ageing, health care reform, and applying health technology in nutritional assessment in resource poor settings. He is actively building capacity in Implementation Science/Research. At present, he is engaged in some work in Adolescent Health/Nutrition.
