Bismark Bright Ofori-Manteaw is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Medical Imaging, School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho, Ghana.
Education
He holds a Master’s Degree in Diagnostic Imaging from the Sheffield Hallam University, U.K, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Diagnostic Radiography from University of Ghana.
Work Experience
Before his appointment at UHAS, he was Head of Radiology at Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital (ENRH), Sekondi, Ghana. He is a registered member of the Ghana Society of Radiographers and the Allied Health Professions Council, Ghana.
Mr. Ofori-Manteaw had been in clinical practice as a diagnostic radiographer from 2010 to 2019 at ENRH, Sekondi before joining UHAS. Between these periods, he played active roles in improving the health care delivery system of the institution. As the clinical practice manager, he supervised and trained several clinical students and interns, and served as a preceptor for the various Medical Imaging (Radiography) training institutions in Ghana. Between 2015 and 2019, he served as a management member of ENRH and also the regional representative of radiographers at the Western Regional Health Directorate. He also played several consultancy roles for several private health facilities in the Western Region of Ghana. Also, he served as the local chairman of the Health Services Workers’ Union of the Trade Union Congress, Ghana from 2015 to 2019. He was appointed in 2019 as the country ambassador of the World Radiography Educational Trust Foundation (WRETF), U.K.
Currently, he teaches Medical Imaging processes, and Pattern Recognition and Imaging Pathology in the Department of Medical Imaging of the School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana.
Science/Research Interest
Bismark Bright Ofori-Manteaw’s area of research interest includes Radiographer role development, Radiological image interpretation, occupational health, pelvic abnormalities in women of reproductive age, etc.
