Richard Vikpebah Duneeh is a Lecturer at the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana. He is dedicated to the teaching of Haematology.
He is a Fellow of West African Post Graduate College of Medical Laboratory-Haematology, a member of Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist, Allied Health Professions Council, International Society of Laboratory Haematologists, a World Health Organization (WHO) accredited expert malaria microscopist, and a supportive supervisor and an On-site Training and Support Supervisor (OTSS) for the Ghana Health Services/National Malaria Control Programme.
He was the Ashanti Regional Chairman and National Executive Council member of the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists
Education
Richard Vikpebah Duneeh obtained his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Science Laboratory Technology at Accra Polytechnic in 2001, Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and Master of Philosophy in Haematology both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2011 and 2018 respectively.
Work Experience
Prior to his appointment in UHAS, he practiced as a licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist at the Haematology Department of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for seventeen (17) years. He wields extensive hands-on experience as a Laboratory Haematologist. At KATH, he provided clinical diagnostic services in general haematology, haemostasis/coagulation, haemoglobinopathies and malignancies.
Mr. Duneeh rose from a laboratory technician to a Principal Medical Laboratory Scientist. Furthermore, he taught Medical Laboratory students on clinical rotation, intern Medical Laboratory scientists, students of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives.
He was privileged to be invited as a visiting scholar to the University of Utah, USA, Amref International University-Nairobi, Kenya among others. He has also been involved in a number of operational researches in KATH and was used as a local collaborator for many other student’s research works.
Science/Research Output
Mr. Duneeh was involved in the clinical trials of anti-malarial drugs for the WHO with a number of publications in peer review journals. His main research interest lies in malignancies, haemostasis/coagulation, and laboratory quality assurance system. He has also been involved in a few works that have been published in high profiled journals.
