Education

I had my radiography training at the University of Ghana, and later pursued a Master of Science (MSc.) in Radiography at the School of Health Care Sciences, Cardiff University, Cardiff – UK and an MPhil and a PhD in Medical Imaging (Radiography) at the College of Health Sciences, University of Salford, Manchester – UK. I have a Post-graduate Certificate in Bioethics from Harvard Law School, Harvard University, United States of America. I also have a Post-graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication from the Brian Lamb School of Communication, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA, and a Certificate in Chinese Language from the Beijing Chinese Language & Culture College, Beijing – China.

Work Experience

I worked as a diagnostic radiographer at the Ridge Regional Hospital in Accra – Ghana. I also served as the special assistant to the Minister of Employment & Social Welfare, Ghana and later become the special advisor to Ghana’s Deputy Ambassador to China. I also worked as an International Student Ambassador for the University of Salford, Manchester, UK, where I was part of a team responsible for handling a wide range of academic and non-academic issues affecting international students within the university. Similarly, I worked as a research assistant (RiTe I&II) and OSCE assessor for undergraduate radiography students at the University of Salford in Manchester, UK.

Teaching

Currently, I teach Health Law and Ethics to MPhil & PhD Medical Imaging students and the following undergraduate classes; third year medical students, and second year undergraduate medical laboratory, physiotherapy, dietetics, and speech, language & hearing sciences students. I also teach Medical Imaging electives such as Radiographic Technique, and Advanced Medical Imaging Modalities such as Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). I also provide research supervision to MPhil and PhD students. 

Research Interest

Tissue viability/pressure ulcers in diagnostic imaging, optimisation of image quality, radiation dose minimisation, digital radiography, role extensions in radiography, and adherence/application of ethical principles in healthcare.

Hobbies

Football, table tennis, tennis and gym workout. I am a keen Manchester City FC supporter; and also got a soft spot for Crystal Palace FC in London. Currently, I volunteer as the Coach of the University Football Team.
