Dr. George Aboagye is a Lecturer at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho, Ghana.
Education
He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Ghana, Master's degree in Food Safety from Wageningen University of Life Sciences in the Netherlands, and PhD in Microbiology from Queen's University in the United Kingdom.
Work Experience
He worked with a number of institutions including National Chemical Holdings in the United Kingdom, Agrotechnology and Food Innovations in The Netherlands, and the Department of Food Microbiology and Virology at Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute in the United Kingdom where he took part in novel anti-viral vaccine development.
He also supervised, mentored and demonstrated in practical modules at Queen's University in the United Kingdom where he served as Science and Engineering Ambassador for young people in science.
Dr. Aboagye is a member of renowned international societies and networks including American Society for Microbiology and British Water
Science/Research Output
He has published in peer-reviewed journals and made presentations at international conferences. Currently, his research interests include detection of human and zoonotic pathogens in food, water and the environment, as well as antimicrobial resistance.
