Elliot Elikplim Akorsu is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana. He was a Principal Medical Laboratory Scientist at the Kwahu Government Hospital where he was providing medical laboratory services for over eight years.
Education
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and a Master of Philosophy degree in Haematology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and the University of Ghana, Legon respectively.
Work Experience
Prior to his appointment at the University of Health and Allied Sciences, he was a Principal Biomedical Laboratory Scientist at the Ghana Health Service and involved in providing medical laboratory services to help in patient care and management at the Kwahu Government Hospital. He also worked with Medlab Ghana Limited (2008-2009) at their Haematology unit and Battor Catholic Hospital as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (2007-2008).
Science/Research Output
Mr. Akorsu has research interest in immunohaematology and other haematology related topics. He researched on Foetomaternal Haemorrhage among pregnant women in Accra, Ghana and is interested in expanding it. He currently has 6 publications and other manuscripts developed and submitted in collaboration with other faculty members for publication.
